darkplaces-server software package provides Standalone server for Quake-based games, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install darkplaces-server
darkplaces-server is installed in your system.
Make ensure the darkplaces-server package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep darkplaces-server *
You will get with darkplaces-server package name, version, architecture and description in a table
